PGC Grad Bryson Johnson of Bucknell wins Patriot League Hoops Award
After wrapping up the Patriot League regular-season title with road wins at Lafayette and Colgate last week, Bucknell swept the league’s weekly awards on Monday. Sophomore guard Bryson Johnson (PGC grad 2005, 2008) earned his first Anaconda Patriot League Player of the Week Award.
Connecticut Sun Sign PGC Grad, Danielle McCray
The WNBA Connecticut Sun announced today that guard Danielle McCray (Kansas) has been signed to a three-year contract with a team option for a fourth season. As per team policy, no terms were released. McCray is a 2008 graduate of PGC having attended Think The Game.

Auriemma Believes Point Guard College Grad, Hartley, Will Be a Star
The idea of attending Point Guard College was simply mentioned to Bria Hartley by members of the UConn women’s basketball coaching staff. They told Hartley about the program and that former UConn guard Mel Thomas and current senior Lorin Dixon had benefited from attending. From there, the coaches left it up to Hartley to make her own decision.

Rice Owls Have New Leader to Follow
D’Frantz Smart went back to school this summer, but the most important lesson she learned may have come during the first few weeks of last season. Smart admittedly wasn’t physically or mentally ready at the beginning of the 2009-10 season. She was still recovering from a foot injury that sidelined her most of the summer, and it showed during the Owls’ 1-6 start. That’s when coach Greg Williams made the decision to bench his starting point guard for an early non-conference game against Sam Houston State.
4 PGC Grads named to Naismith PreSeason Watch list
The Atlanta Tipoff Club’s Board of Selectors compiled the 2010-11 Naismith Preseason Watch List. On the list are four (4) Point Guard College alumni: Cetera DeGraffenreid (UNC), Italee Lucas (UNC), Jence Rhoads (Vanderbilt) and Dawn Evans (James Madison).
