Stop Spreading Lies

Today’s Monday Mindset: Stop Spreading Lies
Stop spreading lies.
Most of you are spreading lies and you don’t even know it.
Who you’re spreading lies to? Yourself. Where you’re spreading lies? In your own head.
What do you need to do instead?
Well stop those lies.
What lies do we tell ourselves about ourselves?
That we’re not capable enough, that we’re not worth it, that we can’t achieve certain things in life.
That’s what people told me in my basketball career. Mano, you’re not good enough. Mano, you’re not tall enough. Mano, no one’s ever made it from our town anywhere, so why do you think you can?
I started to tell myself those lies as well.
Maybe I’m not capable. Maybe I’m not good enough. Maybe I’m not worth it.
But I changed those lies and I instead chose to take on the perspective, why not me? Why can’t it be me?
When I chose to take on that perspective, and I changed the story I was telling myself, it dramatically changed the trajectory of my career and the results I experienced.
What lies do you need to stop telling yourself? And what stories do you need to change so that you tell yourself a better story about yourself, about who you are and what you’re capable of?
Because when you change the stories you tell yourself, when you change what you believe about yourself, you’ll change what is possible for yourself.
That’s my challenge, and that’s your Monday Mindset.
