On Reactions, Assumptions, and Spending Your Time
Jan. 20 | The 3-Point Play
BASKETBALL TIP
Reacting to calls is not competitiveness, it’s weakness.
Instead, take pride in deciding for yourself — in advance — how you’ll respond when things don’t go your way.
We don’t want reactions, we want responses.
How will you respond to taunts, criticism, bad calls, and fans yelling?
The decision is yours.
LEADERSHIP LESSON
If you ever find yourself sitting back, assuming it’s not your job to lead because you’re not the captain or you’re not “in charge,”
…you’re wrong.
Can a basketball team have 12 leaders? You bet it can. Can a company be full of leaders? Absolutely.
To become a champion, whether it’s on the court or another endeavor, every person must be a leader. They must become an example setting, encouraging, instructing, involved team player.
And that right there, is something every person has the capacity to become!
– Dick Devenzio (Think Like a Champion)
LIFE PRINCIPLE
Sometimes, magic is just someone spending more time on something than anyone else might reasonably expect.
– Raymond Joseph Teller (Magician)
